The Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC) on Desertification is an annual international meeting bringing together Parties, intergovernmental organizations, and various civil society organizations (NGOs, associations, scientists, businesses, local authorities) to review progress and challenges in implementing the Convention’s strategic framework, based on reports provided by Parties and other relevant bodies such as the secretariat and the Global Mechanism. Within UNCCD, (Governments) Parties are responsible for decision-making, other UNCCD stakeholders, such as international organisations, CSOs and the private sector play more of an observer role.
