COP17 / Side event: toward more drought-resilient territories: how are the Désertif’actions recommendations being addressed?

CARI is organizing a side event on August 25, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the French Pavilion during COP17

In light of increasingly severe droughts and their impact on regions, communities, and ecosystems, dialogue among stakeholders is essential to build resilience and drive changes in public policy.

As part of COP17, this roundtable will draw on the recommendations from the “Désertif’actions 2026” initiative, launched at the international summit held in Djerba, Tunisia, from March 24 to 28, 2026. It will bring together a diverse range of institutional and operational stakeholders to discuss these recommendations and identify the conditions necessary for their implementation.

Quels leviers pour passer à l’action ?

Through discussions with the panelists and questions from the audience, the goal will be to identify the obstacles and opportunities that will enable these recommendations to be translated into concrete and sustainable solutions.

The event will thus seek to identify key messages and courses of action that can inform the discussions at COP17 and the contributions of the various stakeholders at the France Pavilion.

Information about the panelists and speakers will be available soon.
