Overall objective

The aim of the Kilimo Endelevu Arusha project is to support the emergence of a sustainable food system in the region, in order to strengthen the resilience of local populations.

Project objectives
  • Strengthen the food security and economic viability of family farms through sustainable land management and agroecological intensification.
  • Accompany the territory’s stakeholders in setting up an institutional and social environment that facilitates the deployment of sustainable land management and agroecological intensification.

Main activities carried out
  • Training and technical support for family farms in 10 villages on agricultural production, livestock, post-harvest management, and marketing.
  • Restoration of degraded lands in the ten villages.
  • Setting up short marketing channels and training of restaurateurs and sellers.
  • Awareness-raising among the citizens of the Arusha region about healthy, local, and sustainable food.
  • Sensitization and advocacy with local and national authorities.
