Structured action programme for players in the fight against desertification

Overall objective

The general objective of the PASS-LCD is sustainable agricultural development in dry areas, combining population security and environmental conservation, through active collaboration between civil society and political players.

Specific intervention area

The Sahel is facing an ever-increasing number of climate, security, health and migration crises. We need to continue working with Sahelian CSOs to strengthen civil society in their efforts to combat desertification and promote sustainable land management through dialogue with public policy and multi-stakeholder collaboration.

  • National policies are embracing agroecology as a solution to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • The contribution of civil society organisations to the Great Green Wall (GGW) is strengthened and enhanced.
